I attended the Dallas boat show this weekend. After looking at all the new boats (that I cannot afford) I did notice something. Almost every outboard at the show was either Yamaha or Mercury. I saw very few Johnson or Evinrude engines. I have never owned anything but OMC engines (have had 8 boats). It looks like I am part of a dying breed. There was a time when I thought Johnson/Evinrude was argueably the best 2-stroke available. I sure hope Bombardier puts Johnson/Evinrude back on the map.

Re: Dallas Boat Show

Digdug,
I attended the boat show in Abilene, Tx this weekend and I saw a few OMC (BMC). The majority of the OMCs where 99' and 00' models. Travis Boating Center seemed to have rigged their boats with new old stock and they were not completely open about it, you had to look. I hope too that Bombardier brings OMC back to what it once was, but for now I am going to buy a Yamaha.
Good Luck,
Little Bear
