W explained why not announced earlier in noon newscast. He told the press last week Rummy was staying because he did not want his leaving to effect the election and wanted the reporters to go to another topic.

Nothing new with W he just lied to the press cause he could.... Now that is my kind of leader.

Bush said while Rumsfeld's resignation had been in the works for a period of time, he held off any announcement until Wednesday because he "didn't want to inject a major decision about this war in the final days" of the election campaign.

Knowing when to lie is an important skill for a political leader.

But in this case, the evidence all points to, W was telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The guy stayed until the next day - exactly as W said.

No spin, I watched W speak today and he clearly told the press that he told them Rummy was staying when that was not the truth. I do not care why he lied, I just know he lied. And that is a fact, in case you do not know yet Rummy is not staying to the end.

I am glad he lied as Rummy has killed enough young troops by his ignorance of military operations.

Still trying to dodge who decided on the war in Iraq and who was running it. ob that is plain stupid, it is W's war and we are presently where he is lead.

It is a little harder than missing National Guard meeting and draft dodgin by his administration. Cowards do not make good leaders in a fight and this administration has proved this.
