Today I just the Best Buy I work at opened...and I was in charge of greeting all the customers when they entered the store. Now here the question....Do you guys find it annoying to be greeting by a lot of people when shopping or do you prefer to just go about your business??? I ask because I used to think it was annoying to be greeted etc all the time, but after today, seeing how some peoples' expressions would brighten and how some would just start to talk to me about anything at all, I have begun to see it as a great thing......Just lookin for some feedback here fellas.

Re: Customer Service

Doesn't bother me at all, at least I know I'm welcome. <br /><br />At Wal Mart, they'll even "unstick" a cart for you. ;) :) <br /><br />I like, the greeting: "Welcome, If I can help at all, please let me know".

Re: Customer Service

The new one that opened today in Menomonee Falls.<br /><br />I was pretty much sayin "Hi, How are you doing today?...Is there anything in particluar you are looking for today?"<br />then I'd either show them where to go, take them to an area specialist, or try to answer the questions myself.

Re: Customer Service

I like a door greeter with personality. If you can't smile or crack an occasional wisecrack, quit! Some of the walmart door greeters here are great, others, I want to run over them with the cart they just "unstuck" for me. :)

Than unstick it yourself and quit complaining. I think that's a nice gesture.

Re: Customer Service

I like the greeting if it is friendly and seems sincere (don't really care if hey mean it, just at least sound like they do ;) )

Re: Customer Service

I don't like any employee in any store bothering me at all. Most that try to give you advice about a product are wrong and don't know what they're talking about. I'd much rather just find something myself and research it before hand if need be. A few days ago at Home Depot the "expert" told me I shouldn't use PVC pipe outdoors because it will "rot through". Not saying you don't know about your products, pony85, but many don't...

Re: Customer Service

I hate it when salespeople try to tell you about something they clearly know nothing about........I am not sayin this cuz i work there but simply because i have seen it and have done it myself, but we had two weeks of area training....much was product based. There were even a couple of days where we had vendors come in and train on specific products.(note i also worked at Target for 4 1/2 years and recieved no such training nor had any salesfloor member) Its all about the store you are at. <br /><br />Plus if I dont know something i don't even waste my time pretending.....all about customer loyalty

But Oregon sunshine is what flows through the PVC. ;)

Sun will "rot" PVC? Plummer have been poking it through roofs in the form of vent pipes for many years. Maybe AZ is different.

Yea, I had to run out in the rain real quick to make sure, but yeppers, it's PVC through my roof. Been there for some 25 years and still not rotted.<br /><br />That AZ. sun must be some bad stuff. :p

Re: Customer Service

http://www.uni-bell.org/faq.html#q2 <br /><br />If you look at FAQ #2 it clearly states that UV rays will produce a negative effect on PVC pipe. Keep in mind however that this was after constant exposure to it, and in even the most extreme conditions and after 2 years the pipe still had 75% of its original strength. So I think it is plausible...without covering the pipe properly that UV rays will damage (maybe not rot) the product. But in my eyes its still the material of choice. just my 2 cents
