custom panels

I'm redoing my 88 bass tracker and wondering what is the best way to redo the panels.

Currently i am thinking of using some hardboard panels i have (bout 1/4" thick) the problem comes with lettering the panels. I've seen some use vinyl letters but i can only find 1/4" and they are too big for a switch panel, are these available in about an 1/8" or so and if not what are my other options.

most of these come with labels, or get one of those squeeze type label makers.

Got any friend in Retail? I have a Brother label maker and I can print on clear film and poly (or clear spray paint) over it. lasts forever. My friend owns a store and he labels small merchandise in the case with the same type of label. Th labels are just like scotch tape.

Any major arts and crafts store (Michael's, A.C. Moore) has lettering all the way down to "microscopic". They have several fonts to choose from. Just be sure to seal the panel with a clear coat that has UV protection.

thanks for the replies guys i guess i'll look at some more art stores and such then i'll have to resort to the label maker solution. This is a winter projest so i've got some time

Dude I have a ton of label makers from work. What do you need made. I can make them and drop them in the mail
ill make you a couple of different sizes and jsut use what you want

thanks bro i'll get with ya when this projest gets closer to finishing and i know what i need (currently redoing the elc. circuits)
