Hey fellas, I am trying to install a lowrance LSS-2 on my boat, and I do not have enough room to mount it on the transom. I will have to trim all the way out while using structure scan, and am not sure if I want to do that.

I was thinking about mounting the ducer right under the keel. This will prevent motor turbulence, lower unit interference, and will just be a cleaner install. I also will need to keep the transducer parallel to the waters surface while idling (because that is the speed that structure scan is used at.)

Here is a video that should help.............. the guy say's typical installation is on the starboard side but he has a kicker on that side......He also say's it is fine to mount it a little higher up the transom because it is not a hi speed unit............. Link below.
