So having a few motors now, i was in dire need of a motor holder for maintaining, and showing off my large motors... A quick trip to home depot, and a total of 38.54 in supplies later, we were off to the Races. Entire project only took about 2 1/2 hrs, and the design was basted on the picture i saw on

74SkeeterHawk's Restoration blog... Anyway, enjoy, if you have any Q's just holla...

Supplies aquired.

Started off by cutting a ply board for the base.

Next we cut the size of the inside box where the motors would rest above like angels clouds ?

After we built the box, wood gluing all around it, and putting lots of deck screws in, we were looking pretty solid.

Next we put up the side supports.

We put the side supports in with some temp screws, then put the stand transom on.

Next her LEGS !

Put the lugs in after the supports below were solid and level... ish

This whole thing was makeshift, and this is how we found to get some support

One thing led to another and SHA COCKA !

Good Job! Looks like a dandy. While we are showing off here's mine.

Mine was about $40.00. I see in your pics you had some liquid inspiration to help you along...... As did I! :D

BTW I just got that same Minn Kota trolling motor for Christmas from my wife.
Now I just have to figure out how I am going to get my boat back together.

Put some big caster wheels on that baby...you'll be glad you did later on.

Great rig!! Nice work, I will be making something quite similar this winter too.

Side note.... I noticed the color of your LU oil... not so good. I would think that you have water penetration coming in from one of your seals.

Best change what ever seals you can and keep an eye on that.

Nice.

Here's mine I made it out of scrapes and used left over screws from a job.

Cost nothing. (got to love that)

At first it had no legs and was tapcon-d to a little 2 block high wall, but when I moved I stuck the legs on it.

CASTERS WOULD BE COOL!

Yep, couldn't live without caster wheels on mine in the shop...open the door, drop a piece of ply in the doorway, push it out and down the ramp to the yard, drop in a trash can, fill with water and it's runnin' in the tub.
