Re: Crusader 454 getting hot - help please

I have a 1987 454 Crusader raw water cooled, running in brackish water for the last 4 years with light use. My starboard manifolds are running hot, low water flow out of the mufflers. raw water pump has been pulled and ckecked, intake flow through both engines the same to thermostat housing. flow to the manifolds (RWC) is low which i'm sure is causing the problem. Flow is good throgh the oil cooler, I have pulled the circulatig pump and it looks fine however I will replace it since it is off. I have used a garden hose to run water throgh the circulating pump ports and the manifold ports, flow seems equal and good.
The problem seems to be flow from the thermostat hosing to the manifolds. both manifols have been pulled ckecked and cleaned. The risers are new from Crusader.
Today I will be intalling the circulatig pump and reassemble the rest and trying it initially without the thermostat and crossing my fingers however I don't believe it will help.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need to start a thread of your own, not hijack an old post with your question.

From our Forum Rules http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=397820

12. Please do not post to threads that have been inactive for more than 3 months UN-LESS you are the original poster. We have very active forums and any thread that remains inactive for that long should be considered "dead". It is especially confusing when there is an entirely new question posted to an old thread. This is considered a hijack. Please start a new thread of your own.
