First, I would like to thank Joe Reeves again for his generous and knowlegable information in helping me solve an electrical/tachometer question.

My question is; I am wondering if the cavity underneath the voltage regulator/rectifier on a v6 evinrude crossflow fills up completly with water when the engine is running, or is it only splash up for cooling the regulator?

The water cooled reg/rec is designed to cool in water. When the block does not fill with water the reg/rec stands a good chance of overheating, shorting out and may catch the wiring on fire.
