Creative ideas to remove what is left of a pretty much disintegrated gimbal bearing

$1270 - ouch. Thank the gods for this forum and the experts who hang out. The more repairs and maintenance we can do ourselves the less often we have to pay for professional labor. Not saying it was high - no idea. But certainly hard on the pockets.

Hopefully the last trip in for a long while.

FWIW, this past June I was quoted $750-$850 to replace the bellows, water hose, shift cable, new impeller, all new outdrive seals, pressure and vacuum test the drive if everything went well. My gimbal bearing was not touched.
Of course things did not go well for me, I ended up having to replace the outdrive, but that's another story. ..
