There is a soft plastic bait that I found works KILLER for crappie in most lakes I try them on. Berkley Power Nymph used on a light jig head so they slowly sink down. I let them sink and give it a little jerk every 5 seconds or so, looks like a small crayfish swimming thought the water and drives them nuts.

I mainly used the Pink and Pumpkin colors.
