I have a Sun Tracker Party Barge that I discovered has a cracked support brace where the engine pod mounts. I heard a rattling sound and found the cracks, it’s the rear most mounts on both side of the engine pod. Over the years the brace must have gotten fatigued. Looks like I’ll have to pull engine then the engine pod off for it to be welded and reinforced.

couple of questions.
Is the motor original with the boat? How big is it. How old is the boat.
Do you trailer it often or regularly? If so, do you use a transom saver.

Original motor 115HP. Boat and motor 2007

Boat stays in a slip during summer and travels less than a hundred yards for winter storage. It’s been trailered some without a transom saver, but not much.

in that case it looks like an age fatigue issue, which suck.

I'd still use a transom saver after fixing. I was surprised at how much bounce I saw on mine without a saver.

I’m not looking forward to pulling the engine pod off for repair but it shouldn’t take too long to pull engine and then the pod.

yeah
I'd have to look again but my pod is bolted to my "C" channel ribs.
