Hey fellas I bought an old Quintrex that was over powered with a 90HP Johnson (boats only rated for a 50hp) and decided to sell the motor and downsize to a 50hp for economical reasons. After beginning to take the 90HP off i found this crack that was sneakily hidden behind some wrapped up cables, the crack goes all the way around that support beam and i am wondering if this is something that can be welded up with then two vertical supports welded onto the current two horizontal support plates or will the whole V support need to be ripped out and replaced? Going to ask a few boat repair shops for their opinion on it but ill have to wait until Tuesday as we have a public holiday here on Monday in Australia.

Well, yes but, you will have to have a good welding shop fabricate new bracing and more than likely replace the skin In that area. It would be best to remove the interior wood or things like that to inspect it completely.
And welcome to I-boats.
