How did you go working that title out chaps?
For the next 10 days there is an annual event in Brisbane called the Ekka.
It is the Royal Brisbane Show for the Agricultural and Pastoral Assn.
This event started 130 odd yrs back, and the farmers at that time purchased a mass amount of land on the edge of Brisbane.
Now it is smack in the middle of the city.
All the country folk go for their one big day in the "big smoke", to see the best of breeds/hort products/eventing (horses)/everything that happens in their world, drawn from all over our State (big one too) etc.
The city mice come in droves to see that too, although they seem more interested in Side-Show-Alley, and blowing the top of a capaccino in one of hundreds of food stalls.
Country folk look different too...men in their Akubras and jodphers, women in soft cotton hats, kids race up and pat the bull, ask the boss how much his nuts weigh, sort of thing.
It is a real contrast of lifestyles.
Anyway we had a great long day and enjoyed it.
Found a few growers I will do business with.
Photo is me and Anita and young Hayden.
Have a great day you guys. We just did.
Cheers
Phillip
