Just bought a 1980 model 4.5 Mercury as back up motor and no water is coming from tell tale. Checked impellor and pump but both are in good condition but the 3/8 copper tube running from pump to power head is blocked? When I put water in reverse direction in tell tale outlet it flows freely down inside of leg. How could these two sections have become separated. Doesn't seem to make sense, copper tube blocked but other section flowing freely. How would it have become separated and can you help me by giving some advice on how I can repair it?
