Probably bring half back home to enjoy another day, can't handle being stuffed full anymore.

Wow that is a heck of a cut. On a good night and if the cut of beef is good I might be able to finish that (might)
my girlfriend did not finish hers, not even close. we shared hers for breakfast the next two days.
It was excellent. Great taste. Waiter said they get it from texas.

I haven’t had ox tail in many years. Sometimes I look for it but they don’t have any. I saw a pack yesterday and grabbed it then saw the price and back on the shelf it went. $65.00. When the hell did this happen? I heard its become more popular lately but WTF.

I had never tried oxtail so a few years ago I tried an oxtail recipe that you did in a cast iron pot on a smoker. It turned out inedible, terrible flavor. I’m not objectionable to give it another chance if prepared differently.

I make Ossobuco with it and it’s amazing.
Once considered a trash meat and now apparently a delicious cut that cost a small fortune.

Yeah that sounds horrible. It is a VERY rich and beefy flavor. Low and slow in the oven after a sear. Onions, carrots, etc. Standard stuff. Over mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and cheap red wine and I'm in heaven.

That sound like a mis mark. I bought maybe a year ago at around 7 bucks lb.

I was going to check the price per lb today but they didn’t have any. It was likely right though I live in on a very expensive island. I shelled out $38.00 a lb on Ribeye tonight. Dogs having surgery tomorrow and I wanted her to have a great dinner. Next time I see the ox tail I’ll do a price check.

My folks live on an island but go back to the mainland often enough and just off the ferry is a Costco

I have heard wonderful things about the Costco
I have never been. I have been off the island 3 times in the past 8 years. Maybe someday I will make a trip there.
