Rule #204-a, subsection CII of the "Man Book" clearly states, and I quote;

"NEVER allow a person of the female persuasion to realize and/or recognize ANY abilities you may or may not possess when it comes to the following: cooking, cleaning, picking up after yourself, judging dress choices, and/or any activity considered a 'chore' as it pertains to household duties. Wheretofore, party of the first part, (man) shall further refrain from even engaging in intelligent conversation should the party of the second part (woman) be legally and/or technically espoused to party of the 1st part

I don't know how much plainer it could've been said...............

The man clause is generations old, I was first enlightened by an old co-worker when I was 18. He told it pretty much verbatim, but not so eloquently I will never forget it, I was explaining to him how I fixed the washing machine when the wife broke it. He said HOLD ON son, does your wife know you know how to do that sorta thing? Then he proceeded to fill me in As for the cooking, I cook every meal. After 12 years of marriage she still has yet to not burn macaroni and cheese :facepalm: I gave up on teaching her years ago, it was just easier than arguing about the shoeleather steak. I look at it this way, I get to cook what I like

Its really hard for some women not to be the control freak of her kitchen. I know I bite my tongue every time Mr. LadyFish cooks and its not easy since I'm a great cook and have been doing it all my life.

I've come to appreciate the occasions when he does make the effort and try real hard not to point out how it should be done or, how I would do it, but it ain't easy. I know he has to figure it out for himself and I try to let him.

I do appreciate that heat least makes the effort, but appreciate his grilling and smoking expertise so much more. I'm better in the kitchen and he's better cooking outdoors than me.

It is probably important for her to feel that she is the master of cooking in your household, regardless of the facts. It is her space and your cooking is an imposter that if good enough would threaten her domain. So she puts it down to show she is master of this domain.

My wife kind of does this. She speaks like I am a true amateur. However, I do many things and frankly cooking is just another that you can learn and do well at regardless of your time in the job or your sex. I am also more adventurous with what I try to cook while she largely checks the box with the same old stuff as she really is not into the dinner cooking but more into baking. I don't make a deal of it because it is not just that important.

Tonights dinner will be wiener water soup, followed by toothpaste on toast, yummy! Um honey ? You dont have to cook anymore
