I'm baking a ham for dinner, any suggestions to make it more than just a plain ham?
Thanks

Re: Cooking a ham

My mom used to rub the ham with mustard, score the surface in a diamond pattern, then pin bits of pineapple to each diamond with cloves.

Was sincerely yummy.8)

I always cut my ham and then hold it together with toothpicks and spread brown sugar all over it and then add sliced pineapples on it again held on by toothpicks and then pour the remaining juice over ham.

I cook mine like JBs mother, but I pin the pineapple on with tooth pix and stick cloves all over it, befour baking, I wrap in foil to bake and marinate 2times during baking with pineapple juice. Marachino cherrys pined to it also add a nice flavor, Use the juice of the cherrys as a marrinate also.

We like the pineapples and cloves, and also but cherries in the middle of the pineapple circles, like heycods said. A little brown sugar and then basted in a white soda like 7-up.

I prefer ham smoked. We smoked a few last year and they were absolutely the best hams I have ever tasted.

Just Broiled some 1/2 slices the other night about the way as JB and the others. Only thing I haven't tried is the cherry.
Will use them next time, sounds good.
