Re: converting 2 line pressure to 1 line fuel pump

If someone is looking for a 2 line tank, I have one in storage. Will be putting it on E Bay about 2 weeks. Reasonable and like new.

I believe the pressure tank style fuel system was used from 1949-1960.

If anyone is thinking about doing this conversion, there is a fuel pump, hose, and motor side connector on Ebay.

Looks great but it says it fits 15..18hp only?? Do you think it would
work on a 1958 10hp??

Re: converting 2 line pressure to 1 line fuel pump

Ok....I have a 1958 10hp evenrude that I think broke the waterpump
and I have oil/grease leaking into my water barrel after I ran it for a
few minutes...this motor has not been ran in years so I think I need
to put a seal kit and a pump in it. Does anyone know were the impeler
is located??? Do I need to pull the lower unit off to reach it?? thanks

Re: converting 2 line pressure to 1 line fuel pump

this came from jay_merrill
a little different take on it.

I have one '58 Evinrude Bigtwin that I converted the same way. As I'm sure you found out, you have to mount the fuel pump on the upper cover, upside down, because the top of it will hit the rod under the flywheel if you don't. Another way to do it (which I did on my other Bigtwin) is to use an intake cover off of a 28hp or 33hp. They are identical to the older cover with one difference - the mounting point for the fuel pump is very slightly lower, which allows the pump to be mounted at the top position, right side up
