Re: convertible top?

I think that the mounting location of any top depends upon 2 things; where you want the shade and how high the top is. Since I don't fish, I appreciate having shade when seated at the helm whereas others may spend most of their time seated further aft while fishing. Despite the apparently forward location of my top, you'll notice in the picture of some old guy piloting the boat, the guy's head while standing is shaded, but would certainly be in the sun if seated. Tops attached directly to the windshield will give the most shade, but in my opinion, are the least comfortable overall no matter how you use the boat. - Grandad

there's also a tradeoff with higher top, in that low angle sun gets under it. and yeah, Grandad is right, attached-to-windshield top will be lots hotter than bimini.

no problem, we can see it OK. lookin good! how long these last has everything to do with how much UV they're exposed to, so cover the thing whenever not in use.

Thanks, I try to always keep the boat covred, I use a heavy duty tarp from hf, with my homemade support system. I just folded the top down and put the boot on then covered the boat back up the next day. I hate letting her sit out in the elements.
