Dear experts,

I have an Evinrude 50 hp -89. When I give full throttle on my remote, I still have like 0.38 inch left if I manually push down the throttle on engine. Is this normal or is my remote incorrect adjusted?

If it is wrongly adjusted, how do I adjust it and still keep the idle?

Kind regards,
Christian

Re: Control throttle vs manual throttle (=wot?)

Remove the throttle cable at the engine. Push the throttle linkage on the engine fully against its stop (fully closed). Then make sure the throttle lever on the control box is in neutral. Pull the slack out of the throttle cable and hold it up to the throttle linkage on the engine. If it doesn't line up perfectly adjust the trunion (barrell) on the cable until it does. Connect the cable. Remember, do not move the throttle linkage on the engine when attaching the cable. If you have to move that linkage to make it line up, you still don't have the cable adjusted to the right length.

Re: Control throttle vs manual throttle (=wot?)

Dear Upinsmoke,

Thank you for your answer. Sorry, didn't express myself clear enough though... My cable is in position, it's connected and everything works fine... but when I give full gas on my remote, I can still push down the throttle on the carburettors 0.4 inch manually... is that normal or is it incorrect adjusted, am I loosing power??

Thanks again,
Christian
