Yes I have a 2003 rinker 270 fv it has a 350 mag mpi and s bravo 3 outdrive and a closed water system on engine. It goes into limp mode and a steady alarm goes off the oil pres. 48lbs and the water temp does not even reg. Yet I turn it off and start it back open the throttle up and runs until 140 on temp back to limp do it again runs up to 170s any help is appreciated

Gauge temp and ECU temp sensing are from different sensors. You need to put a diagnostic computer on and find out exactly what it's seeing.

I put the rinda scan tool on it and the only thing is the feul pressure is saying 2.1lbs thats at idle and when run the throttle up it doesnt change and it has the typical code but the only that sticks out is 138 ecm memory fault... thanks for your time

Your engine model wouldn't or at least shouldn't have a fuel pressure "sensor" to read out on the scan tool....The 2.1 could either be a default setting within the ECM or maybe it's reading the injector pulse width as 2.1ish would be within a typical reading range for the injectors but should change a bit while fluctuating the RPM.

What is your engine serial number to help know what sensors you'd have onboard?

Fault 138 says ECM memory fault... ecm memory error..... (Critical) = only 5% engine power available....ecm memory is corrupted.... ecm faulty.

If this is so, try clearing the fault and see if it comes back...Check all the power and ground connections you can find to see if they are clean and tight...If 138 comes back then you'll want to try sending your ECM out for testing and repairs.....If you have the 555 ECM like I believe you do, then you'll want to send the ECM here, https://whipplesuperchargers.com/ind...&product_id=73 ...And hope for the best...If it's another type of ECM you have then there's a another place to send it to...Need your serial number to really know.

To read fuel pressure, you'd need a fuel pressure gauge connected to the fuel rail pressure schrader valve.

What area do you reside in?

Yes it has the 555 ecm and the 138 code does come back and i will have to get back to you on the serial no.

Do you think maybe the boat could have been struck by lightning by chance?
Where do you live?

It possibly could have i live in wv if the ecm was bad would it still run
Yes the engine could still run but usually at reduced power. In your case the book says it could go as low as 5 % engine power....Essentially forced to idle RPM if it gets that low which would be all depended on the severity of the actual issue.

Sounds like you'll want to contact Whipple superchargers in Fresno CA, describe your issues, let them know you'd like send in your ECM for testing and hope for a repair if possible / required. Testing should be about $100.00 and if they can fix it, $600.00.

Let us know, good luck.

I can say with some confidence that the problem will be with one of the well known weak points of the mpi.
Best to get it plugged in to the diagnostics...but it's likely to be either one of the following;
Iac
Throttle position sensor
Diz cap failure causing a misfire
SW pressure sensor (most likely)
Alternator or jiggered battery (even though it will start the boat)
Failing these....check the gear lube oil header tank for the float being stuck or a false visual reading (if you don't clean the tank out every year, you get crud and/or the tank stained at a level that looks to be oil at first glance....but it's just a tide mark stained on the tank)
