I just wanted to know if anyone has boated the Conowingo Lake/Susquehanna River and is it a decent place for power boats. It's my understanding it's near the peach bottom dam/power plant.

Yeah, I've been there a couple times with small boats. The upper part is shallow and rocky, but the rest of it is deep. I used the Broad Creek ramp. I prefer the Chesapeake to be honest- way more good places to anchor or explore.

There's another thread going here on iboats named 'lower susquehanna" that you might find interesting. Link here: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=341162

I've been boating there my whole life! Love it. The ramp located right at peach bottom is wide and has a decent amount of parking. It is steep though. It's located here at the end of Lay Rd. : http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&l....65514,-76.183304&sspn=0.398677,1.112576&z=17

There's a small island with a resulting downstream sandbar that people hang out and swim at directly across the river from the ramp. Other than that sand bar, it's wide open and deep from the ramp all the way down to the dam. You can also safely venture up-river till where Muddy Creek comes in http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&l....65514,-76.183304&sspn=0.398677,1.112576&z=16 but do NOT go any further up than that without someone in the know with you

LOTS of debris in that whole lake,,, logs, floating tires, telephone pole chunks..etc. Cruising is ok, keep your eyes peeled and look ahead of you. don't fly 65 mph...I wouldn't want to water ski or tube there.... too much debris.

No more than any other "lake" on the Susquehanna. I don't agree at all with that statement. My family has been tubing and skiing that section for 60 years.

can anyone tell me about the muddy creek boat launch I've been there in the car to check it out, I've been mulling over putting in there to do a little exploring. It looks like a pretty long run down to the dam.
