Connection problem

I ppl, i have the cable and the software to connect to the evinrude 115, and i try to connect my laptop with win98 e it always give-me connection error.<br />Can anyone help me?<br /><br />ps. sorry for my english because i'm portuguese.<br /><br />Thanks
