A car dealer once told me a Kia Borego had excellent fuel consomption to which I said " Are you telling me your elephant eats less than mine" ?
155 psi on a 27 year old enigine with unknown run hours 1000 miles away. ?
options:
  • seller is huffing and puffing the numbers
  • his mecanic iffy at best
  • his gauge is broken
  • he hopes to never see or hear from a buyer 1000 miles away after the sale
.

Your right Matt I have heard good things about Timsoutboards. I think they are in NJ
I think it's Wisconsin or something but I've purchased from them and they were always responsive, polite and decently priced.

They also answer their phone!

Must be a different Jim
The guy I head about apparently has an amazing used parts yard and mostly sells older rebuilt power heads. I did a quick google search but it turned up nothing.

These motors have a compression release hole.-----Makes for smother / quieter idling.------Some earlier 3 cylinder 49 cube engines had compression of around 150 PSI.-----I do not believe it is difficult to find a rebuilt powerhead for a 1997 model.----Just need to know where to look.
