Hi Steve After you decarbed were your pistons free of carbor? I did mine with same OMC tuner and i let it sit overnight ran it on hose for a few min,and i can still scrape carbon on the piston tops. By the way i will be thinking of you on your next birthday,we share the same date,the only dif,is we are 43 years apart.Nice boat you have.Have a nice day. J.C.

Steve, it doesnt matter how you do the compression test as long as you do it the same every time. Remember we're looking for a difference in numbers not a specific number.<br /><br />JC -- after a decarb you need to run the motor for quite a while. The carbon may or may not come off the tops but what we're really after is getting rid of carbon behind the rings.

JC, thanks! It is a good date obviously! :D I have not peeked into the plug holes. I know the plugs still had a little bit of carbon on them so I'm going to run another can through this weekend. <br /><br />DH, thanks again. :) Idle is the easiest way so I'll stick with that since it's also the baseline I have.
