compression on late 60's 4hp

what should the compression be on a late 60's 4 hp? How is a good way to check it since when you take the top off the pull rope isn't attached?

I'll check my 4.5hp later if I get the chance---it's basically the same motor as yours. You can put a knot in a length of pull cord and put it in the flywheel and pull it over a few times. Be careful, and not pop yourself upside the head with the knot!
