Has anyone got experience with a plywood skiff similar to the Glen-L Sweet Caroline dory/skiff? This boat has a dead flat bottom, athwartship as usual but also longitudinally. The old Texas Dory plan book might have one too. I want to build a 15' plywood skiff, but usually favour the regular type with the bottom rising to the stem. I wonder if the dead flat bottom shape could cause the bow to dig in to the back of a wave in a following sea and cause the boat to broach? I have read the dead flat bottom does not pound as much. Any comments would be welcome.
