Re: COLONOSCOPY. Who hasn't been there?

i've managed to avoid these so far. i think i'll continue that for a bit.

Sound's like a plan, but not necessarily a good one.

Most of the time, if people wait until they think they NEED one, it's too late.

And remember, it's not just about you. Loved one's suffer greatly also, when someone gets cancer. It only makes it worse, when the cancer may have been prevented, by early screening.

If a colonoscopy seems embarrasing, just imagine doing a not-quite-complete #2 into a colostmy bag, strapped to your leg, for the rest of your life. Sound's like fun. :(

The good news is that more Insurance companies are gladly paying for the "full monte" (inlcude the knock out drops), because they have wised-up that colon cancer is more common than thought, is mostly preventable, which costs them (and us) much less, in the long run.

Re: COLONOSCOPY. Who hasn't been there?

A very good friend of ours who is just barely in his fifties ended his year for insurance and had already hit his deductibles so figured Ah what the heck, I guess I might as well get tested before I start a new year and have to hit the deductible again. He did and they found colon cancer.

They operated and removed a good portion of his colon and lymphs and he is no undergoing his 2nd round of Chemo for a 6 month stent.

If he hadn't been tested, his life would have been cut short. At least now he has a fighting chance.

It one of the most preventable cancers there is if caught in time, if not, its a fast spreading cancer.

My deductible is so high probably won't be able to afford it. Hopefully I will last until I hit medicare age--if that isn't bankrupt by then. I know a bunch of old people who are sucking medicare for everything it is worth. Every ache and pain they have its off to doctor land. Insanity is when 85 to 90 something year old people go to the doc once a week. They wouldn't do that is some or all of it came out of their pockets. There probably won't be a penny left in 10 years

When the female doctor asked me if I minded her giving me my prostate check or should she get the male doctor. I took one look at her skinny fingers and said "You are fine".

....then I said "could you use two fingers?"....and she said yes but asked why, and I said, "because I wanted a second opinion".
