I am glad the SEC will not win for another year. So much for SEC dominance!

Now ...Go Oregon!

Morning 'Musky! Or should I say afternoon. No geese sighted this morning, but a few ducks flew in ... Don't think OSU can beat Oregon, they just have too much offensive power, but we shall see in a couple of Mondays. I really don't care who wins that one. I think my hatred for OSU will cause me to root for the Ducks ... and I do like Mariota ... but we will see what happens before and during the game. I will probably root for whichever team is losing at the time ...:indecisiveness:

All depends on Oregon's defense I think. OSU would probably win with Barrett in there.

Alabama had some curious play calling later in that game, especially that interception when they got the ball after that bad punt. That's what happens when you have Lame Kitten calling your plays!

Sure would be nice to have 8 teams in the playoffs! Would have been Alabama and FSU this year if it was the old BCS system...what a farce that would have been.

Don't know about 8, but definitely 6 (top 2 get a bye). I saw more of a team in TCU than I did in FSU!

5 auto bids for 5 power conferences and 3 at large. Allows someone like Boise St to get a crack. Also makes teams more likely to play a better OOC schedule.

All conferences need to play 9 conference games. PAC12 and Big10 has been doing that already and BIG10 will start in 2016. And no cupcake FCS teams in the next to last week like the SEC does.

Or maybe not.

Sorry..had to get you back!

That's harsh, bruce, but well deserved. Deep down, I pretty much knew we'd lose this game and just hoped it wouldn't be too bad. Guess that option is gone. The fact is, we have players good enough to beat Tennessee but our coaches have no clue how to use them. Kirk Ferentz is a great person and a stand up guy but has been a terrible football coach over the last 6 or so seasons. He currently has about a $16 million buyout so he is here for the foreseeable future, probably my lifetime, sad to say.

The embarrassment is extreme but there it is. It's who we are and, likely, who we are going to be for the foreseeable future. Sad to say, I would rather not make it to a bowl game than have a showing like this.

Don't feel bad bassman, I had them too. Along with Pitt. :blue:
Sure do miss the old Hawkeyes....
Looks like Tennessee is coming back as a power, like they were.

Sorry, bud, But at least Pitt put up a fight.

Yeah, Tennessee is looking pretty good recently but they should not look at thrashing Iowa as a return to power, just kind of taking care of business. Iowa is not good and, sadly, not looking to get better any time soon.

Just to add, the old Hawkeyes are not going to be back anytime soon. It's going to take a complete change in Coaching and AD staff and probably a number of years, depending.

I don't know, bassman, sometimes it is easier to be blown out than to be blowing out a team and then fold in the last 6 minutes to lose ...

Well maybe, I'm not entirely familiar with that particular experience. Iowa's technique is more to lead at the half and then fold in the 2nd half. Our coach firmly believes that any time you have a lead, however small, you should stop playing offense until that lead is blown. Then you try to get it back if you can. Makes the game more interesting.
