I am replacing trim switches but their SS screws are hard to remove. I suspect former owner never coated them. I plan on coating them with marine grade gasket sealant. Any better suggestions???? Back in the day, we just coated with grease, but I suspect that their is something better. In addition, what is the best coating for gimbal pivot bolts. Manual says red locktight and 150 lbs torque on gimbal hinge pin. That seems like a lot of torque on aluminum?

My preference is a grease called "Aqua-lube" or "Aqua-shield"... I use it on everything that gets wet. (I also work in the ROV industry offshore, and it's all we use, and that gear goes to 4000m). I had to change the brake pads on my trailer about 5 years after I put them in.. I was dreading the job, knowing how those caliper bolts can get... I was pleasantly surprised to find they came out like they'd only been put in the day before....As for the hinge pins, they are a 5/8" fine thread, so 150lb/ft is the right torque...

I always use Vibra-Tite, which is that red high viscosity coating. So far, never had anything get either corroded or stuck. Great stuff.
