Coat it or Gluvit

Hello All,

I was wondering if any has used Coat It epoxy,are there any differences
between Gluvit and Coat it other than price.I,m about to seal all seam and rivets
on my super fisherman.Thanks for the help.

Coat-it is black and Gluvit is clear, both are epoxy sealers and have to be protected from sunlight.

Gluvit is kinda the "got to" around iboats. We've heard very good things about CoatIt too. I think you'll be in good shape with either. Just make sure the hull is clean and the temps are good.

Both are used a great deal around here, Coat it seems to have the edge in popularity, but they both work fine.

I actually used both on my boat, because I have to order Gluvit and get Coat-It locally (Academy sports). When I ran out of the Gluvit, I still had some real estate left and finished the job with Coat-it.

I didn't notice a huge difference in application (other than the color as jig said)... Given the price difference, I probably favor Coat-it.

I used the Gluvit on a 14 Tinny, it worked great. It made a slowly sinking boat water tight.

Haven't used Coat-it, but the members above would not recommend it if it didn't work.
