Re: CNN debate is over

That is the most astute synopsis of our current military situation I have heard to date. Bravo willy!

Hmmmm, methinks you two are stuck in the static analysis of cornventional wars prior to this one, (a common problem fer most military planners that you seem to share), n' the way the MSM n' Dems try to push their propaganda down our throats as well. Wars usually have an objective. The Islamists want a base, (Iraq) with lots of assetts, (oil) that they can use to launch attacks to ruin civilization and install a world dominating Islamic Caliphate, (the Libs n' Dems want to give them such a base). They don't care where in the Middle East they set up shop. We, (the Cornservatives some moderates n' Republicans) want a stable ally to help modernize Islam and deny our enemies a place to operate. The Dems just want political victory, they really don't care what happens to our allies, the rest of the world or our honor. Ends justify the means.

I guess you two think we should throw all our military assetts into Afganistan or attack Pakistan or Saudi Arabia too eh? Real logical. Is Liberalism a mental disorder? JR

Yes Master, I agree with you that Willy is a very smart n' articulate Lib, and I have no idea of yer particular leanings. Libs like Willy tend to package Geopolitical things into tiddy lil' snippits that sound good on the surface, but if ya ponder fer a few nano seconds really make zero sense. This is one of those snippits IMHO. Sorry to pick on ya, didn't mean to offend as I was really drillin' ol' Willy, (one of me favorite Libs to pick on here on DC). I would never question his mechanical skills, but allways question his political judgements. Respectfully JR

Wow, ya really don't care about winning a war ya enter into. I guess it's kinda like a video game then? That smoke must be very powerfull. JR

You got me quite wrong.I think you should try to rent an additional brain cell.
A world power has neither friend nor enemy. It has interests.
When the particular interest has been achieved, then regardless of "winning" or "loosing" the world power moves on to the next area of interest.
The British did this very successfully in the 19th century and the Chinese did some of their own during the 1960s in their war against India.
Winning a war on the battlefield usually means that the looser wins the peace while the battlefield victor ends up paying the bill for both sides.
The spin masters of this world are very capable at explaining why this side or the other won or lost.

Agreed, in as much as I do believe over periods of time natural 'friends' or predictable 'interests' do occur. Britan and US, Canada, Auzie,NZ and US etc. now since WW2 Japan and US

When the particular interest has been achieved, then regardless of "winning" or "loosing" the world power moves on to the next area of interest.

Not in matters of war.

The British did this very successfully in the 19th century and the Chinese did some of their own during the 1960s in their war against India.

China won wars, and so did the Brits. There is a HUGE difference between a limited war, (as you are talking about here) and the total war the Islamists are waging.

Winning a war on the battlefield usually means that the looser wins the peace while the battlefield victor ends up paying the bill for both sides.

Since WW2 that has been the case, (except Vietnam where the victor just killed all non Commies), if this cornflict gets real intense after the Democrat arranged defeat in Iraq. I doubt we will be able to pick up any pieces, as the escalation is likely gonna get out of corntrol, and not be very PC, IMHO.

The spin masters of this world are very capable at explaining why this side or the other won or lost.

Victors write history: Rolmops. If we THE USA really loose a war, (the war) to Islamic Facists the world will never be the same. We will not loose in that fashon without eliminating a large portion of the Human population from this planet. Ol' Murky will not pray to Mecca under any circumstances: PERIOD, and Murky is likely not alone when the rubber really meets the road. Now about that smoke. Murky would like to understand yer way of lookin' at the world cause it makes very little sense. JR
