I purchased a used cmc tilt and trim and it was working ok, but I think the relays went bad. I wanted to replace the wire harness anyway due to it being very old. 01297 is the only numbers I could find on it. Can anyone help me find the correct wire harness. Thanks in advance

I'd recommend you first see if the trim motor works.. get a jump wire directly from the battery to the solenoids.. usually, blue ("sky"-up) and green ("grass"-down). touch each and see if the motor works and goes up and down. if so, your trim motor is good. Then you'll have to chase connections back to the throttle. Solenoid swithes are cheap..

Yes it does work, I had it working right after I purchased it. The up .. blue side was working but the green just clicked and wouldn't come down. While checking on it now they both just click.

could be corrosion, clean all the contacts up good. if still not working, solenoid switches are cheap

Ayuh,.... Those appear to be just standard plug-in relays, available at any auto parts store,.....

Contact CMC. If the unit is old and the current harness is different, they don't help.

What is wrong with the harness? How about some pictures of bad or worn spots.

The ones ya buy will probably say Bosch on 'em, but if there's the same number of pins, it'll be the same relay,....

This is the mess I have. Cuts in some of the wires too. But since I have no idea what model the unit is, I don’t know what harness to look for.

Just so you know they make those 12v relays in different current ratings from 5 amps all the way up to 100 amps i think is where they stop. And they all look the same and have the same connectors. I would think you need at least a 40 amp for trim motors.

Contact CMC direct, I bought a new wiring harness complete with new relays last year for a 27 year old unit. Don't remember exactly how much but
seems like around $150.00 or less. Their tech person was very knowledgeable and helpful to troubleshoot the unit.Fast shipping also.
