any help would be greatly appreciated
1970 85 hp Johnson outboard
No timing degree marks
Used Joe Reeves Timing
have timing set to B position on flywheel
now I need to-4 degres
manual say turn screw counterclockwise to retard clockwise to advance
each full turn aprox 1 degree
clockwise from in boat or clockwise from behind boat?
- 4 degree I believe I need to retard timing?
from in boat turning clockwise increase lenght of adjustment screw shortning travel of timer base
so I turn screw out 4 turns to retard increase timer base travel
confused about proper way to turn screw
thanks Dzer57

Clockwise and counter clockwise when viewed from the head of the screw.
