1st things first. drop the lower unit. then turn flywheel. that eliminates the lower unit. sounds to me like tstats did not open. or one of the carbs was clogged.

right now. i am betting on a rebuild of power head.

Looks like something internally broke. Bad news is there is a quarter size hole in the block on the lower spark plug side of the power unit. I feel so bad for my buddy. Bought the boat for $1000... put about $2000 into it and got it perfect and this happens the first day out with it. The worse part about it is we didn't even get to fish
