clueless needs help with powre trim

90 hp merc will not trim up or down.new switch 3 years ago. I hear oth solenoids clicking when switch is pressed up or down. I put a volt meter on the posts from the battery and from the leads from the trim motor with juice coming from both leads. help

ouch kinda sounds liike the pump took a dump........

so theres no power until you switch to UP and on the down solenoid theres no power until you hit down...or is there power all the time at the output end of the solenoids.....could be stuck solenoids....

could try direct battery and direct ground to your hydraulic pump using small alligator clamps and some wire.....it would bypass all of your switches and solenoids...atleast you can see if the PUMP is bad then.....I use a 30a fuse on my positive lead when I use jumper wires...just in case! and unplug the pump wires from the rest of the wiring if you try jumpering the pump

ok so if you have power coming through......Im guessing there's mebbe 3 wires on the pump?, ground, pump up, pump down.....?

hmmm......check your grounds with a test light..........?

I am no pro with those hydraulic units and their wiring...just using my general knowledge of electrical to help ya.....

I bet theres a wiring diagram on iboats here somewhere...or a similar post....type in the search your issue and see what comes up....
