Has anyone else noticed little red dots appearing on floor and swim deck for the 2012 Tahoe Q7SSI. I only wash with soap made for boating, sponge, and magic easer; but it almost appears to be rust marks. The white finish gets discolored quickly. Any recommendations for cleaning and keeping white? Also any recommendation on protecting the seats?

Thanks,

No answer but I'd like to tag along on this thread as I could use similar advice.

Re: Cleaning Tahoe Q7SSI - White finish

I haven't seen any red dots on my floor. I would go very easy with that magic eraser! I have gotten everything out of the floor with very mild detergents. first trip out this year my 3 year old managed to drop a full container of worms that got ground in before I got there to clean it up! all came out very easily. Use a good liquid wax to help seal it up! I know it will make it a bit more slippery but that's what I do. the liquid wax tends to be easier to get in out and around all the bumps.

I know that it's a different year, but I have a 2011 Q7ssi, and I haven't seen that. I use the boat wash and was sold by Bass Pro Shops (Their brand). I use a sheepskin mitt, and don't use a Magic Eraser at all. BPS also makes a very good liquid that easily removes scuffs (I don't have carpet) and is very gentle. I don't use any wax or treatment on the floor.

been very happy with the StarBrite Deck Cleaner - leaves behind a protectant also. Works on hull scuffs also.

Thanks. I use the Brass Pro brand also. I will try the sheepskin mitt. Brass Pro was who recommended I use the magic eraser; even for the chairs. The dots are small, but just cannot seem to get them off.

I looked up Starbrite and saw that they have a boat polish...have you tried it too? I have used car compounds to keep the finish of my boat looking good but I wonder if their product will be easier to use and last longer?

Star brite Premium Marine Polish Boat Wax with PTEF : Amazon.com : Sports & Outdoors

Nope havn't tried their Wax yet - been keeping it simple with a quick mist with Aerospace303 and/or Mothers auto quick spray wax(have it laying around).

You'll like the BPS stuff, especially the wax. The wax makes my boat shine like nothing else that I have tried in my 40 years of boating. It's very gentle and non-abrasive on the finish as well. It will take some effort to remove, especially on the first application (I recommend going over it twice that first time instead of struggling to make one coat perfect), but it will be worth it. After that first application, subsequent applications will be a piece of cake. I get stopped all of the time by people wanting to know about my Tahoe and every single one of them is shocked that it's two years old (and gets about 40-60 hours of use a month) because it looks pristine and the gel coat shines like mad!

Well great! I just ordered some and will let you know how it turns out. I will use my buffer to apply it and make it a quicker job.
