o.k. got this outboard mariner 75 hp 2 cycles year 1993 3 cylinders.
outboard been sitting for a few months before i got it.
engine hardly starts, the starter works and sometimes the engine runs after many starter trials.
spark plugs replaced.
after examining the gas tank seen many fealth-not surprised it is not running properly. gas tank cleaned.
next step, cleaning carbs. took out the carbs (3 carbs-first time i do that and very happy about it) saw on the lowest carb dirt and black stuff (not seen much in the picture). I conclude it definitely needs a cleaning. it would be sent to a professional to deassemble them and clean them.
afew questions:
1-your opinion regarding carb condition.
2-do i need to clean also the pipes connected to the upper carb (one coming from gas filter and other goes to some unit i still don't know).
3-how can i clean the pipes?
4-is it common to have lowest carb with more problems than the upper carbs?
5- cascades on carbs are not complete one unit but torn to half. i won't find here new cascades. how important to have un-torn cascades for that and is there other options or modifications so cards would function correctly? i dont have enpugh knowledge about cascades and their role...
6-engine before getting carbs out was leaking gas, mainly when it is not fully down (prepindicular to ground) but when trim is pushing it upward). any clue about reason? i didnot notice where it comes from.
7-any other help and suggestion for other things i should do would be welcomed.
sorry for the not perfect english...
