I drove the boat, everything was fine, then the next time (within an hour) I went to start it and it would not start, using the fast idle I was able to get it started and once running it was fine.

Since it was hard to start, I thought maybe the plugs need to be changed. So I change the plugs and it fired right up, no fast idle required. Then 1 hour later it would not start, not even fire. I pulled the plugs, they looked fine, so I checked for spark, nothing on any cylinder.

Could this be a switchbox problem? can i test it?

What year is it? It may be a magneto ignition, with no switchbox. If so, sounds like it could a coil problem...weak coils can simply stop juicing voltage after they warm up or get hot. If it has a switchbox ignition, I am clueless...my wife likes to remind me of this often.

I am not sure of the year, Serial No. is A710463.

How can I be sure of the year?

Thanks, any idea if it is probably the switchbox? they are like $350 and seems I can't test it.

boatfix.com has the cdi brand of switchbox for about 170$ bucks with a warranty.
