Here is my old Dateline Bikini 15 (around 1979) with Volvo penta 70hp
She had been neglected and left out in all weathers for around 3 years.
The outside looked so bad and interior was torn and tattered.
On the way home the day i bought it, the wife wanted me to just dump it.
She said it was an embarrasment as it looked so bad.
I could see underneath all the dirt and grime that she was nice, the interior was not a problem as i had
lots of material laying around waiting for something like this to come along.

A few weeks of hard work and she was ready and gleaming again.

Hey I will play as far as I can tell she is a 1968 Fish N Ski. 1972 Evinrude 65 hp on the back runs all day on 8 Gallons, is ALOT of fun for the family, and pulls 34 mph fully loaded GPS speed. The seats have been recovered and such since. In my sig is the Pontoon for when we have everyone together.

That took me by surprise, too. Turns out that V-P DID make outboard motors off and on (on their own and with partners) for a long time. Here's an interesting read:

Parts for what? The Evinrude I find mostly on Ebay, hydroelectric shift lowers are pretty tough to get a hold of but I buy parts cheap whenever I can find them. The control box I bought from a member here.
Right now I have three complete lower units scavenged and set aside.

As it says in my signature...1982 Baja BR184 with a 1980 Mercury 200 Blackmax (original motor was a 1982 Mariner 200, Mercury was rebuilt in 2007). Except motor and new interior (vinyl, gauges and GPS speedo), all original. Solid floors and transom...gel coat needs waxing with a more aggressive wax (soon?!), other wise excellent running boat. She runs 62mph GPS with a SS 3B 21' prop.

Wow I guess I qualify (still strange to me since I just got it - I do love the "classic" boat image though!)
