The media is suggesting it, and our current administration has openly stated it is a legitimate concern. One side downplays it while the other goes the opposite direction with this.<br /><br />Are you suggesting that you do not believe this is or should be a concern?<br /><br />In my opinion, civil war will be W's ticket out without having accomplished all that he has declared will be accomplished in Iraq.<br /><br />Just my thoughts.

I really dont know enough to comment. Is the civil war between the insurgents or between tribes. Or is civil war just a new buzzword for the anti adminitration? I dont think its in the best interest of W or Iraq. I personally its bs so I thought we could debate it....first we need some research done..some cut and paste....We'll cover the story right here, screw the media AND RUSH Limbuagh ( just kidding Rush he,he.. )I havnt tuned in to Rush for a while so I know nothing

Civil war...religious war...blah blah blah war...still just another excuse for the animalistic 8th century behavior we are used to seeing in the middle east. Will they ever civilize? Probably not in my lifetime. Haven't they been fighting each other for like 3000 years? How do we expect to put a stop to THAT?

I agree with Dave. Even if there's not civil war while we're occupying, it'll happen after we've left. Unrest is their way of life. Until they learn civil, political, and religious tolerance, middle-east life will be the same.

Isnt the problem that having destablised the country if we leave Iran will step in to fill the vacuum. In my view when we invaded and removed Saddam we became responsible to sort the problem that we created out. Its a bit rich to say look weve removed the dictator were leaving now enjoy the ethnic cleansing.

(Rant on) Seems to me we killed about 620,000 of each other in "our" civil war before it ended. If they do the same how many of them would that leave? Seems the only manner of control they understand is oppression. Enlightenment, cooperation nor tolerance it seems is within thier understanding. I can't say I really know what's happening on the ground over there, but whenever my nephew makes his infrequent contacts with us, he tells us DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE NEWS REPORTS. He should know---he's right in the middle of Baghdad.

Iraq civil war is no good for anyone, Sunni Vs Shiite (sp) and the Kurds up North with most of the oil. No-one likes the other nor agrees w/ each other yet all are devout Muslums. Recipe for disaster. The Sunni's recently blew the top off a Shiite Masque (sp) thus the Shiite's retaliated... there goes the neighborhood. You got to think that maybe the only way to rule these thugs is with an iron fist... kinda like the deposed ex dictator Sadaam did for years.

This is being spun over there by various groups as being the direct result of the American occupation. It is a direct result of our (U.S.) actions.....<br />When we took Saddy's boot off of the peoples necks, we empowered them to slug it out....<br />Saddy would not, (and did not) put up with dissention....<br /><br /><br />FWIW, every bomb that explodes & does not injure our guys is one less....<br />I'm sure our guys are still targets....<br />This particular clash has been brewing for a long time....<br />& it ain't gonna go away any time soon.....JK

The key word is tolerance or rather the lack of it. Each group has it's own believe in what is right for Allah. "It's my way or the highway."<br /><br />Here, we could care less what faith our neighbor's believe in.

Agreed. Let's step back for a minute, and let them get after it for a while when we are not standing in the middle. Let them thin each other out.
