chrysler compression ??

assuming the engine is the same year as the boat ... that would make it a 1969 chrysler 4 cyl, 105 hp. what should the compression be ?? 120 - 130 ish ?? thanks guys, scott

120-130 for that year would be acceptable in my book

Anything over 100psi should be okay as long as all cylinders fall within 10%.

The reason nobody knows what the spec is is that there never was a spec.

i may not have been doing the compression test properly. it was the first time i ever triedto do it and the gauge only went up to 60 on all 4 cyliners but then went right back down to zero. as i cranked her over ... thet gauge was back and forth from 0-60 possible stuck rings after sitting 3 years or maybe i just didnt do the check correctly ?? thanks for your replies guys

oh yea ... i do have to drop the starter off at a local shop for a rebulid.... with all 4 plugs in it will not hardy turn the engine over .. all 4 plugs out and it will turn over but still seems to be slow

a slow turning motor will not give a good reading .Get the new starter on ,recheck compression and post the results
