my little 1968 6.6 wont go in to forward. It will barely catch here and there and grab, but it is short lived. It goes into reverse and neutral easily. I can hear it skipping trying to grab forward, but it wont catch. What can I check or adjust?

I have tried shifting really quick and fast and easing it...both yield the same results.

thanks guys

Re: chrysler 6.6hp slipping forward gear

or if there is just a way to adjust the shift linkage. I dont think anything is worn, I think it just needs to be adjusted somehow to not favor reverse. I am new to chrysler motors so I wouldnt know where to adjust this at. I do know that when I have the lower unit off, I can push the knob down there clearly into each gear.

It seems like the shift rod linkage up on the motor side is what needs to be adjusted.

if anyone has any idea on how to adjust this, please let me know so I can give it another run out on the water.

thanks
