I have a Chrysler 55hp that continues to run when I turn the ignition switch off. Per SELOC service manual this is a type 1 Ignition system (Flywheel Magneto). I installed new ignition sw. MP41000 Ignition Switch (Three Position - Push to Choke), I wired it per the wireing diagram on page A-41.
(C) Choke (Green)
(M) Ignition Stop or Tach. (White)
(B) Battery (RED)
(M) Ground (Blue)
(S) Start Solenoid (Yellow)
(I) Ignition (One side of Overheat Warning Device)
* Black Wire connected to nothing at switch end.
Orange Wire connected to One side of Overheat Warning Device.
Purple Wire No connections either end.
What did I do wrong and how do I correct the problem?
In reality at the motor end, the Black wire is comming from the Magneto.
