chrysler 45 hp no spark

i have a Chrysler 45 hp with mod. # 4575 and serial 1770# i just got it and put it on a rinkerbuilt boat it has spark to only one of the plugs i checked and both coils are good but there is a brown and blue wire and a white and blue wire they hook up to the coils and the blue goes to pos, and the white or brown go to neg. the white and blue work but the brown and blue dont. so the engine i believe is only running off of one cylinder.

Hello bigfishers and welcome to Iboats. Your motor is from 1969. From you description it sounds like you have a Battery ignition with alternator. Follow the purple wire on the terminal strip on the motor and see if it goes to the motor somewhere. Probably a square black thing that is your rectifier. If so the next step would be to check the points and the condenser. Taking the flywheel off is going to be the toughest part. Have you tried reversing the wires going to the coils to see if it changes which cylinder gets a spark?

its a Chrysler. Push that white elephant in the Lake/river and buy a new motor.

whichever one is hooked up to blue and white is the one that works you can switch coils and it will work but brown and blue dont will taking off the flywheel off change anything or break it in any way anything to do with timing

Push it in and buy a nice reliable 4 stroke honda.
