Christmas lights!

Its that time of year again and i have to put up lights outdoors. Not my favorite chore! You would think someone would have come up with some kind of laser lights that reflect off eaves trough and look like lights without me on a ladder!

light projectors are about $30. however they are cheesy at best

I quit lights back in my 40's. Too much effort for not enough gain.

Switch to fake tree as well.

Just set ours up Yesterday. Up to me they would have stayed in the box.... I get home from work before she does so I turn them on before she gets home, As long as she's happy, So am I. We didn't make it 42 years for nothing! lol

besides a $10 used wash tub with a hole in it.

well...... the two she bought did not fit, we have one of the mini trees in an apple crate.

so...... I just made a wooden tree collar (from re-claimed oak pallet wood)

Putting them up is easy but the removal is a PITA in the colder months. The weather is hard on them.

Mine went up the day after Halloween...and were lit. I have young kids who still believe in Santa so we celebrate. Not Griswold celebrate but our house is lit.

Outside tree still needs to go up on the porch and get decorated. Waiting on some warm, non-windy weather for that.

I agree. But the ones that say "star" on the box are small, crisp, bright lites. We use it camping and point it up in the trees, looks pretty cool. The big round, dull looking lites, not so much...

try florida sunshine. light sets that lasted 20+ years in Wisconsin winters from November 15 thru March 15 lasted 4 years in Florida (from November 26 thru January 1) and all the molded plastic bits are brittle/cracked/weathered

Mine will stay up until spring, May. I'll turn them on until Feb..... Might as well enjoy them.
I have 3 crabapple trees lining the drive. Debaiting on putting the teal lights on them... Am I lazy or not.. Since we're talking lites, post em up.....

Camping? All you need for camping is a campfire and the natural sky.... Well maby a tent.

Yeah i agree they don't look the best against a house but they do make a nice display if shone against the branches of a large leafless tree as the moving lasers create a sparkling effect as they randomly hit branches. I was more thinking about a laser projector that would shine a stationary line of lights that I could reflect against the white eaves to give the effect of a string of lights
