hello,

I am looking at chevy 350 top rebuild and wondering if the marine head are similar to truck engine head of same era? The reason i'm doing this because the original head are design for leaded gas and the truck engine head are not. Instead of sending the original head for machining and pay extra $$, i have this other head all cleaned up and ready to install.

What's the different between marine and none-marine head?

OMC just used stock Chevy truck heads in that era - in fact the OMC parts books just give the chevy truck part numbers and say "see your Chevrolet dealer"
no difference. and by most accounts, "lead era" valve are fine with modern gasoline

What's the casting numbers on the original and replacement heads? Post them here, and I can look them up for you. Like Howard said, truck heads are what most of the marine manufacturers used, but I would want to be sure you have matching (or close) combustion chamber sizes.

i'm going to reuse the old head. I pulled the head and very little bore wear, if only the last owner cared a little. any idea on CC engine paint part #?

Although the heads may be the same, the gaskets need to be marine spec.
