hello all,

I am fixing or restoring a CC gull wing and needing some help or advice with the type of wood for the stringer. My two options are mahogany or cider wood, which one would be better pro and cons?
Should I buy a straight 2x8x12 wood or 1x8x12 and laminate both are going to be encase in epoxy risen?
I'm going to use a biaxial fiberglass cloth for first 4 feet since it's going to hold the motor or should i use woven roving cloth?
here's some pics. of my new to me CC.

Re: Chris Craft Dolphin 19 Gull Wing

Welcome to iboats harderr!! Looks like you have a great project there. Take sometime and look at Friscoboaters threads. I have to warn you he's up to 58 pages now but with all his posts and those wonderful !!!!!videos!!!!!!!! you will answer all your questions. He had to replace the stringers and deck in a Searay. More than one member has thanked him for all he has done. Use the search funtion and you will find more posts on stringers and redecking than you can stand. I don't know that much about what type of wood to use but there are many members who do. Please keep us informed with posts and pictures!!! We need both.
