well from what i understand most of the water is evacuated through the exhaust, so it makes it hard to tell. However, if you have 10 minutes you can install a tell tale on the motor and then you always know. I did this on my 83 FORCE and it was the best modification that i have ever done. There is a thread that you can search for and it will guide you through the installation. I highly recommend doing this, its a priceless modification.
