I've replaced all the gauges on my 2000 evinrude 50 hp 4 stroke was wondering about the sys8chwck gauge, the original was black and when turning key on all lights light up then go off 1 at a time starting with the top light first but the replacement gauge they all light up and go out starting with the bottom light first, see videos, Is this a problem or just the way the new one works?

Gee, it sounds like a test is in order. I do not think you have the "Check Engine" alarm. I think that is on the V6 engines only. But you can ground the tan wire on the cylinder head and see if the overheat alarm sounds.

Testing the no oil and low oil are a bit more involved. You can simply let the oil reservoir run low, take some 2 cycle oil with you to fill it after the alarm sounds.

The no oil alarm should be tested, however, you need to disconnect the oil line to the OMS pump and run the engine on premix until she alarms. Now purge the oil line of air, reconnect the oil line, pump the oil primer bulb once and continue to run the engine on premix until the alarm goes away.

download you service manual from this list... pretty sure it covers testing the display if not well the file will be usefull for other things. the display is pretty much still used on medern etec evinrude engines. if the suggested manual does not cover testing the dispaly by grounding individual wires pull up the 2007 75hp manual it has a section to "turn on" each led.... but it looks like your display is self testing properly at key on.
